As a Yank, to be more precise, a Texan, I was not familiar with the term "ironmonger." Yet, I find myself in need of an ironmonger's wisdom. A broken bolt in piece of machinery has me flummoxed. I am unable to even drill a pilot hole into it. Thinking heating the remnant is the answer, but how hot? How long? Hoping there is a retired ironmonger in your audience that can give this young'un some much-needed advice. The You-tube videos, usually most helpful, manage to skirt around my particular problem.
